You'll be running Valve’s Linux-based SteamOS as the de facto operating system, but the Steam Deck is essentially being billed as a PC that you can take with you. Also like the Switch, the Steam Deck will offer an additional dock accessory (sold separately) that you can use to store, charge, and connect to a TV or monitor. There's a USB-C port as well as a headphone jack on top that you can use to hook up accessories such as fight sticks headsets, but the system comes with plenty of Bluetooth capabilities as well. Users will have access to their entire Steam libraries without being tethered to their PC, and this of course includes the wealth of fighting titles available on the platform. Much like how the Nintendo Switch allows for seamless transitions from monitor-based to handheld play, so too will the Deck do this for Steam games. The back and shoulders each include four triggers for a grand total of eight. These include two joysticks, two touch pads, four buttons, a directional pad, view and options buttons, and two quick access buttons.

Considering the transition from keyboard + mouse to handheld controls, we're not all that surprised to find that the Steam Deck has a myriad of buttons, levers, and sticks. The entire Deck is just about a half inch shy of being a foot long, and boasts a seven inch touchscreen.
